The Identification settings shown in Figure 2.1, “Setup - Admin Tab - Site Identification” are used to document the facility and contact information where this WebLink has been installed. This information may be used by the WebLink to identify itself in case of any problems with the system. While not required for proper operation, these settings are valuable from a documentation perspective. Click on Edit to make changes as necessary. After filling in the fields below, click Update to store the information in the data files on the WebLink.
The Welcome Message and Front Image options may also be customed for the main 'home' page displayed by the WebLink. If you would like a custom graphic on the home page of the WebLink, click the Edit button on the Front Page area to allow the upload of a graphic file (such as a GIF or JPG graphic) to the WebLink. The uploaded file will be displayed on the home page of the WebLink. Furthermore, the Welcome Message may be customized as well, this is displayed centered immediately below the graphic image.
The Maintenance options shown in Figure 2.2, “Setup - Admin Tab - Maintenance” are primarily utility functions that are not used on a day to day basis.
The Logs button allows you to review activity log data stored by the WebLink. Useful for technician troubleshooting
The Reboot button would also typically only be used in an unusual service situation, it will shutdown all services on the WebLink device including the Scheduler, and then restart it. You might utilize this feature if you need to move the device. Reboot will cause the device to shut down all services and then fully restart similar to a power down / power up situation. As with Restart Scheduler, this will probably only be done if directed to do so by a Watt Stopper technical support contact.
The Restart button will will shut down and then restart the scheduler service. This will typically only be done if directed to do so by a Watt Stopper technical support individual. If the 365 day scheduler is not excecuting events, it may be shut down and restarted by click this button.
Site File will allow you to manually upload a new data file (XML format) on the WebLink that is generated by WinControl. WinControl version 1.9 and higher automatically detects the WebLink and sends the data file during the "Transfer New Data" process, so there is normally no need to manually "Upload" a Site File. The Webink accepts an LI file as generated by WinControl version 2.0 and higher. It is a specially formatted XML data file containing panel, relay, and other device documentation.
The Update/Backup option is used to install new WebLink software on the device. This function will prompt you for an "upgrade" file that will be provided by Watt Stopper technicians if necessary. The Update/Backup function will first backup your data files, and then automatically install the upgrade file. This will typically be done in conjunction with the assistance of a Watt Stopper technical support person.
A link is provided to install WinControl to a Windows 98/2000/XP machine. Note that while WinControl can be installed from the WebLink, you must have a license to use the WinControl on your machine.
A license is required for each WinControl installation on a PC.
